Takedown and opt-out

SocialScrape retrieves public content on behalf of its customers. If it contains data about you, or content you own, you can ask us to remove it. You do not need to be a customer.

Removing data about you (opt-out and deletion)#

Write to [email protected] from any address, or use the form below. Include:

1. The profile, handle or URL the data is about (for example https://www.tiktok.com/@example).
2. What you want: delete the data we hold about this account, and/or block it so we never serve it again.
3. How to reach you, and enough to show the data is yours or that you act for the person it concerns. We may ask for more if we cannot tell.

What we do:

• We delete cached results that mention the handle or URL, and then block it, so a customer asking for it later receives 410 removed and is not charged.
• We answer within 30 days, and sooner where we can. We keep a log of every request and what we did, without keeping more personal detail than needed to prove it.
• We cannot remove the content from the platform where you published it; to do that, use the platform's own tools. If you delete it there, our cached copy disappears on its own within 30 days.
• Customers who already received the data have their own copies. We ask them in our terms to honour deletion, but we cannot reach into their systems.

Copyright notices#

If you believe content returned through the service infringes your copyright, send a notice to the designated agent below with:

• your name and contact details, and a signature (physical or electronic);
• identification of the work you say is infringed;
• the URL of the material and the handle or post we served;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

We remove cached copies of material that is the subject of a valid notice and, for repeat infringers, we may end the account that is responsible. We are a retrieval tool: we do not host or republish media, and the original remains on the platform.

Reporting misuse of the service#

If someone is using SocialScrape to harass or endanger you, tell us at [email protected] and include any request ids you have. See the acceptable use policy.
