The error#
TikTok returned an empty response. They are detecting you're a bot, try some of these: headless=False, browser='webkit', consider using a proxyEmptyResponseException is a subclass of TikTokException. __str__ prints {error_code} -> {message}. This raise does not pass error_code, so the text starts with None ->.
The library logs this warning when it cannot find an msToken cookie, and continues anyway:
Failed to get msToken from cookies, trying to make the request anyway (probably will fail)What triggers it#
make_request got an empty string from run_fetch_script. None from that script is a plain Exception with TikTokApi.run_fetch_script returned None, not EmptyResponseException.
How to confirm#
The message contains detecting you're a bot and names headless=False, browser='webkit' and a proxy. Those three are the only remedies the exception text lists.
Fixes#
The message itself is the fix list: run the browser headed (headless=False), try browser='webkit', or use a proxy. All three keep the browser on your machine. A headless datacenter browser is the case the message is describing. The msToken warning means the cookie jar was already empty before the request. An empty body after that is the exception, not a second warning.
