How it works

A Spotlight link returns the video file address, the creator, the description and the public counts, including views. Profile stories and highlight albums are not files in the profile response, so this tool does not play those. The file address expires, so download when you look it up.

Questions

Can I watch someone's highlights?

Not the snaps. A public profile lists highlight titles, cover images and snap counts, without the snap files. This tool reads a Spotlight video, which includes a content URL.

What link do I paste?

A snapchat.com link whose path contains /spotlight/. A profile link is a different endpoint.

Is this tool free?

Yes. No account and no card. Each visitor gets a limited number of lookups an hour, so it stays free for everyone.

How do I get this data in my own app?

Send GET /v1/snapchat/spotlight with your key in the x-api-key header. A request costs 1 credit. A repeat of something fetched recently costs 0 credits, and failed requests are free. See the reference.
