Posted Oct 30, 2026 to Oct 30, 2026. Top-level comments only. Common English words are skipped.

Free, no signup. A limited number of lookups per visitor each hour. Public data only.

How it works

The tool reads up to three pages of comments, top or newest, and counts words, questions and likes in your browser. It reads top-level comments only. Word counts skip common English filler words, so the list suits English-language videos best.

Use this in your app

This tool calls GET /v1/youtube/video/comments. See the reference, or get early access for a key.

Questions

Does it read every comment?

No. It reads up to three pages, which is a sample of a large thread. The API pages through up to about 1,000 top or 7,000 newest comments.

Is there a sentiment score?

No. A score without a method behind it is a guess, so this tool counts what can be counted: words, questions, likes, creator replies.

Is this tool free?

Yes. No account and no card. Each visitor gets a limited number of lookups an hour, so it stays free for everyone.

How do I get this data in my own app?

Send GET /v1/youtube/video/comments with your key in the x-api-key header. A request costs 1 credit. A repeat of something fetched recently costs 0 credits, and failed requests are free. See the reference.
